We are nearing our predicted end of August release. Expect to see an announcement with more info about that soon.
Work has been admittedly slow, but progress has been made. We have yet to find any mappers or modelers willing to help
us out, but hopefully that will change once people get a chance to play the game. Our forums are feeling a bit cold
and my inbox is dry.

I would like to update the news more often but there isn't much to say right now. We are still on schedule for a
release by the end of August. Map work, bug searching, and game balancing are our main concerns right now. If things
continue smoothly I should be able to set a release date sometime this week. Also, we are still looking for mappers
and modelers (and anyone else who's interested) to help us with work for future releases.

Some work has been done over the last few days. Work on my next map continues and I've been experimenting with
new sprites. The website now has an archive section for old news so that the front page loads faster. You can find
the archive here. Advertising has slowed some but it will pick
up again as we get closer to release. I expect many things will be done this weekend so check back often for updates.

The media page has been updated with pictures of the in-game vgui system and of our menus. I found and fixed a couple
bugs today, and I've started work on my next map. I'll post images of the new map when I get far enough along to do so.
We're still trying to draw more people to the site as well.
[UPDATE]
I made some In Limbo wallpapers for my own use and thought some fans might want them too. There's a dark version and a
light version, and they follow the same theme as the website. They're currently only available in 1024 x 768 but if
there's a demand for different sizes I will create some. You can find them both in the media section.

For anyone interesting in making a map for In Limbo, the current FGD file has been released and can be found on
the downloads page, along with a tutorial explaining the required entities. I also updated the Dev Team page with
info for people who may want to join our team. It includes details for positions in modeling and mapping that we
are looking to fill. I did some work today on the game's vgui system. That ugly orange color is gone in
both the menus and player chat. I will probably post some images of this soon. The progress bars on the about page
have been updated to reflect the work completed in the past few days. I hope to clean up any loose ends this week,
as well as begin work on another map. The following week we will concentrate on play testing to be certain the game
balance is perfect and to ensure a first release that is as bug free as possible. I'm not ready to set a release date
yet, but we are on target to get it out before the end of August.

We've had some really nasty luck in our attempts to advertise In Limbo in the past few days. First, I tried to
post some news at ModDB introducing the mod, but it was declined from being put on the front page. I later received
an email apologizing, "obviously it was a mistake the news item was of high quality and should have been on the
main page". Hopefully that will be put on the front page or I'll post something new there shortly. I also sent an
email to Halflife.org about posting In Limbo news, but they unfortunately had an accident with their email.
"I apologize to anyone who emailed me today asking me to post news for them". I will likely resend them that email.
It's actually only 2 am right now, so I haven't got any new work to show you. I just felt like
sharing my frustration I guess. Expect there to be another news post under this same date if I come up with any new
work tomorrow (or today I mean).

And It Fell Everywhere
.8.02.03
|
The advertising campaign has been going alright, though we've not had total success. At least a few people have
seen the site I think. I might find someone with more people skills that can shamelessly promote In Limbo better.
The media page got a new picture today explaining the in-game HUD. More work has been done on the menus (the words
and their effects have been created), though I don't have anything to show you from that yet. I've also been
messing around some with the game sounds.
[UPDATE]
The media section now uses thumbs instead of scaled down versions of the large pictures. I promise not to commit
this sin again.

|
Me and photoshop have been getting along very well today. You probably noticed the new banner at the top of the
site. I also updated the media section, which is now showing off the menu background (splash screen) that will be
used in the game. All of the 3d work in these new pictures was done by Pete. If you want more in-game screenshots
you should check out our moddb page, which is now sporting
some exclusive images.

A magic cow bell once told me that people like site updates, so here's another one. I've done some work on the forums,
but there's still more to be done. I also submitted the mod to Mod
Database, so as soon as they authorize it you can check it out over there. This weekend is clear for me so expect
to see a lot of work being done on the site and the game.

You can check out our moddb profile here:

HLGaming.com Rules
.7.30.03
|
|
Alright, we've finally got a host for the site. We owe a big thanks to
HLGaming.com for allowing us to use their resources for free. Expect
most of the updates over the next few days to be about site updates and the start of our advertising campaign.
|
|
Still no host, but I'm getting anxious and was in the mood to work on the website so I did. All of the pages
are now up except for the forum. If you want to know more about the game and don't mind reading then head on
over to the about page. The media page is still empty at this point but I'll work to make some screenshots today
and put them in there. Also my first map for the mod is 99% complete and I've begun sketching the next one. Pete's
first map is also near completion.

Today is a huge day for In Limbo. Our very last coding issues have been resolved and the game is ready
to be played. There is still work to be done on making maps, some 2d art for the menus, and with sound,
but the difficult parts are over. Unless some large problems come up in our continued play testing, there
is no reason we couldn't release the first version of the game at any time. Right now we're working with
halflife.org to see if we can get our site hosted there, at which point we'd start advertising the game
heavily. Hopefully my next news post will be that we've found a great host for the site.

Site Design Complete
.7.17.03
|
|
The basic design for the In Limbo web site is finished (in fact, you're looking at it right now).
The idea was to keep it simple and easy to update. Hopefully you'll see more graphics and some color
popping up around the site soon. None of the links work yet, I'm going to wait until we get a host
before working on those pages. Also expect the forums to take a while longer to go up.
